Howard LaVelle
Gospel Singer/Songwriter

Once called the "Gospel Balladeer", Howard LaVelle's voice combines classic soul, raspy tones fused with a powerful tenor range.

Born an only child, Howard LaVelle was raised with a reverence for God and a love for music. Howard’s love for the arts was embedded through music and writing. He began directing, singing and teaching his church choir at the age of 11.

In May of 1992, Howard became a son in ministry to Pastors Bill & Diane Brown of Christ Unity Church, Chicago. Howard has served as Choir Director, Praise & Worship leader and Minister of Music. Howard was licensed and ordained as an Elder in the church in 2019. He now serves as Aide de Camp to the Senior Pastor.

Over the years, Howard has been blessed to sing with many great artists such as: William Smith Jr & RVC, Kenny Lewis & One Voice, Adrian B King & Reverence,, Kim Stratton (CHA Project), Dorinda Clark-Cole, Curtis Clark, and wrote, directed and co-produced the debut release for the late Paulette Bush’s CSU Gospel Choir.
